How is a Custom Splint Made?
Your Occupational Therapist begins by crafting a pattern from your hand, wrist or finger. Using low-temperature thermoplastic materials that are warmed in water, the splint is then formed directly onto your hand, ensuring a personalized fit. The splint is fastened in place with Velcro and padding as needed.
